If you are tempted to purchase items for your own gardens we have a good local garden centre (Farnborough Garden Centre) on the A423 between The Granary and Banbury.  If you want unusual flowerpots, you could try Whichford Pottery which can be found close to Shipston–on-Stour.

Walking in the area

a)  Long Distance Paths  We are on the Oxford Canal Walk and the Warwickshire Villages Trail.  We are also close to the D’Arcy Dalton Way, the Macmillan Way, the Seven Shires Way, and the Warwickshire Centenary Way: we are happy to collect guests who are walking these routes from a suitable location in the afternoon, and return them to the same location after breakfast.  Please discuss this with us when making your reservation.  By prior arrangement, we are happy to provide a simple packed lunch for a small additional charge.

b)  Short Walks  There are many pleasant shorter walks along the Oxford Canal and in the surrounding countryside.  We are happy to make suggestions and to loan maps to guests.

Equestrian, fishing and shooting

a) Coarse fishing

Coarse fishing is available at Bishops Bowl Fishery, which is about 6 miles away, Blenheim Palace, about 25 miles away, Boddington Reservoir, about 5 miles away, Clatttercote Reservoir, about 5 miles away, Dog Lane Fishery, about 8 miles away, Fernhill Farm Coarse Fisheries, about 14 miles away, and Hadsham Farm, about 10 miles away.

b) Dressage

Dressage training and events are held at Babington Dressage, which is about 7 miles away, and at Washbrook Farm, about 5 miles away.

e) Horse racing

There are regular meetings at the race courses at Stratford, Towcester, and Warwick, and point to point meetings at the course at Mollington.
